Let’s Begin

Happy Saturday! Technically it’s Friday night but I was too excited to get started…

If you’ve made it this far, then you’ve probably already read my “About Me” section. Well, surprise! We’re not done. I’m here to give you a little further look into who I am and why I created this blog.

I’ve been through many phases of my writing journey. As a young child, I would write silly poems and stories; “Pig Mud” was a real banger. In college, I frequently journaled. I even wrote a children’s book that my sister illustrated but I never attempted to get it published. I felt very proud of the book but the imposter syndrome and fear won out. I bring this up because that was a piece of the foundation that pushed me to make this blog public. For once, I didn’t want the voice of doubt and the “what ifs” to take over.

I want to give myself the same love and acceptance that I give others. I would never tell a friend that he or she shouldn’t pursue an interest, so why would I tell myself that? I’m realistic that I am not a professional writer and there will probably be grammatical errors, the occasional run-on sentence, or a word that’s misused in my writing. Ironically, my partner and I went back and forth about “humanness” versus “humanity” while I typed this (if you’re curious, they are both correct). Essentially, I am embracing that I am a human and am excited to let the perfection reigns go!

If you have a question or a particular topic you’d like for me to make a post about, please let me know in the comments (or if we know each other, send me a personal message). I hope to have guest “hosts” – if you’re interested in taking over my blog for a day to discuss your small business, share your favorite dad jokes, or tell me about underwater basket weaving, I’m here for it.

Please subscribe and share my link with anyone you think may be interested!

I hope y’all have a lovely weekend full of whatever brings your soul joy!

Pip

  2. Love this! Being so open and honest about feeling like an imposter is so relatable. I completely understand that feeling. Just know you’re not alone, starshine! Can’t wait for the next one.

    2. I was literally thinking about your children’s book the other day and you should absolutely publish it!!! I’d buy it for every classroom in my school, and I’m not just saying that because you’re my friend
